Code of Conduct

HIW Live: Code of Conduct

Effective Date: January 23, 2025
Last Updated: September 27, 2026

Rooted in Integrity, Compassion, and Respect

At HIW Live, we are more than professionals — we are humans serving humans.

This Code of Conduct reflects our shared commitment to integrity, presence, respect, and honoring each individual’s unique wellness path. It serves both as a practical guide for the way HIW approaches its work and as a framework for respectful participation in HIW programs, sessions, groups, communities, and digital spaces.

We uphold high standards of professionalism, ethical responsibility, clarity, and compassionate service throughout our offerings. Each principle below supports our intention to foster a safe, respectful, thoughtful, and empowering environment for every person who participates in HIW services or communities.

1. Professionalism

  • Competence: We provide educational wellness and coaching services within the boundaries of our education, training, experience, qualifications, and professional roles.

  • Scope of Practice: We communicate clearly about what HIW does and does not provide and avoid presenting educational wellness services as medical, psychological, psychiatric, or other licensed clinical care.

  • Continuous Learning: We remain engaged in continuing education, current research, professional resources, and thoughtful review of information relevant to the services we provide.

2. Integrity

  • Honesty: We communicate truthfully with participants, colleagues, partners, and the public and seek to avoid misleading or exaggerated representations.

  • Transparency: We strive to clearly disclose the nature of our services, qualifications, pricing, policies, limitations, and any material conflicts of interest.

  • Consistency: We endeavor to align our actions, communications, and business practices with the values and commitments expressed throughout HIW.

3. Confidentiality and Privacy

  • Respect for Privacy: We treat personal information and experiences shared with HIW with care and discretion.

  • Confidentiality: Information is disclosed only as reasonably necessary to provide services, with appropriate consent, when required by law, or as otherwise described in the HIW Privacy Policy.

  • Data Protection: HIW uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information being handled and seeks to comply with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.

  • Shared Spaces: Participants in group programs, forums, or other community settings are expected to respect the privacy and confidentiality of others.

4. Respect and Human Dignity

  • Dignity: We treat individuals with respect and recognize their autonomy, lived experience, beliefs, values, and personal circumstances.

  • Individuality: We recognize that each person's wellness journey, perspective, priorities, and choices may differ.

  • Cultural Awareness: We seek to communicate respectfully across differences in background, culture, language, beliefs, identity, and life experience.

  • Non-Discrimination: Harassment, intimidation, demeaning conduct, or unlawful discrimination is inconsistent with HIW community standards.

5. Participant-Centered Approach

  • Empowerment: We support individuals in developing greater awareness, clarity, and confidence in making informed choices concerning their own lives and wellbeing.

  • Autonomy: Participants remain responsible for their own decisions and determine whether and how to apply educational information provided through HIW.

  • Boundaries: We maintain clear professional and interpersonal boundaries intended to support respectful, constructive, and appropriately defined relationships.

  • No Dependency: Our intention is to strengthen each person's own discernment and capacity rather than encourage unnecessary dependence upon HIW or any individual facilitator.

6. Ethical Practice

  • Appropriate Role: HIW provides educational wellness guidance, coaching support, reflection tools, and related resources within the scope described in our policies.

  • Conflicts of Interest: We seek to avoid situations in which personal, financial, or other interests could improperly interfere with professional judgment.

  • Disclosure: When a material potential conflict exists, we seek to address it transparently and appropriately.

  • Responsible Representation: We avoid guarantees of specific health, emotional, financial, personal, or other outcomes.

7. Accountability

  • Responsibility: We accept responsibility for our actions, communications, and professional conduct.

  • Correction: When an error is identified, we seek to address and correct it appropriately.

  • Feedback: We welcome respectful and constructive feedback as an important part of learning, refinement, and responsible service.

  • Concerns: Questions or concerns regarding HIW conduct may be communicated directly to HIW for review.

8. Professional Boundaries

  • Relational Clarity: We seek to avoid relationships or circumstances that could materially impair professional judgment, create inappropriate influence, or increase the risk of exploitation or harm.

  • Clarity of Role: HIW facilitators identify their roles as wellness educators, coaches, consultants, guides, or other appropriately described roles rather than representing themselves as providing services outside their actual scope.

  • Financial Boundaries: Fees, purchases, memberships, and other financial arrangements are governed by the applicable HIW terms and policies.

  • Personal Boundaries: Participants and HIW representatives are expected to communicate and interact in ways that respect personal boundaries and individual dignity.

9. Legal and Professional Compliance

  • Applicable Requirements: HIW seeks to comply with laws and regulations applicable to its business operations and services.

  • Records: HIW maintains records where reasonably appropriate for operational, transaction, legal, or service purposes while respecting applicable privacy requirements.

  • Educational Scope: HIW wellness educators, coaches, and facilitators do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment through HIW educational services.

  • Professional Care: Participants should consult appropriately qualified healthcare or other licensed professionals for matters requiring individualized diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, clinical care, or emergency assistance.

10. Communication

  • Respectful Dialogue: Whether in individual sessions, group settings, digital communications, or online communities, we encourage communication grounded in respect, clarity, patience, and consideration.

  • Listening: We seek to listen with the intention to understand and allow others appropriate space to express their experiences and perspectives.

  • Clarity: Questions, differences of opinion, and concerns may be expressed respectfully.

  • No Harassment: Threatening, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or deliberately disruptive communication may result in moderation, removal, or restriction of participation.

11. Community and Participant Responsibility

HIW participants contribute to the quality and safety of shared spaces.

In HIW groups, forums, programs, live sessions, and other community environments, participants are expected to:

  • communicate respectfully,

  • honor the privacy of other participants,

  • refrain from sharing another person's personal information or story without permission,

  • refrain from recording sessions or participants unless HIW has expressly authorized the recording,

  • avoid presenting personal opinions as medical or professional instructions to others,

  • refrain from unauthorized solicitation, advertising, spam, or commercial promotion,

  • avoid uploading harmful, unlawful, or malicious material, and

  • respect HIW intellectual property and the intellectual property of other participants.

HIW may moderate content or restrict participation when reasonably necessary to protect participants, preserve the integrity of the community, enforce HIW policies, or comply with applicable law.

12. Commitment to Service

  • Aligned Intention: We recognize that our work is an extension of our own integrity. We seek to show up with sincerity, presence, discernment, and respect — supporting another person’s process rather than imposing, controlling, or attempting to determine their path for them.

  • Human Responsibility: Technology, research tools, and AI-assisted systems may support organization, communication, or educational work, but they do not replace human discernment, professional responsibility, or respectful engagement.

  • Sacred Trust: We recognize that being invited into another person’s process of reflection and growth is a meaningful trust, and we approach that responsibility with humility, reverence, and care.

Through this Code of Conduct, HIW seeks to foster a trustworthy, respectful, and empowering environment in which individuals can learn, reflect, communicate, and make informed choices concerning their own wellbeing.
